“While I was at Salem, I interned for a variety of arts and community organizations, including Carolina Music Ways, the Dropout Prevention Program at the Carter G. Woodson School in Winston-Salem, the Lincoln Center Institute for the Arts in Education, and Queens Museum in New York City. With each experience I expanded my interest in the intersection of art and community. All of my opportunities were nurtured through Salem, where I grew in confidence and professional skill. Today I work at The Studio Museum in Harlem, where I manage a staff of thirteen teaching artists, coordinate all school collaborations, develop curricula for exhibits, and organize all educator programs. Wow, it is awesome to be working in the field of my childhood dreams. I can honestly say that Salem prepares alumnae for amazing lives!”
